BASIC CHOCOLATE SPONGE CAKE

Basic Chocolate Sponge Cake

Ingrediants:

6 oz Self Raising Flour
6 oz Caster Sugar
6 oz Marg
3 Eggs
3 tablespoons of cocoa powder.

Recipe:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees

Step 1 : Cream your marg and sugar until soft and creamy.

Step 2 : add your eggs, flourr and cocoa powder and mix together carefully

If your mixture is very thick, add a little milk

Step 3 : Line your baking tins with Grease proof paper

Step 4 : Spoon the mixture into the tins, then bake for 25 mins

Step 5 : Decorate how you want. I made a simple butter cream (just marg, cocoa powder and icing sugar) for the center, sandwiched the two cakes with strawberry jam and the buttercream and then topped the cake with melted chocolate, and decorated with left over butter cream and a crumbled chocolate flake.

Note: don't add the cocoa powder , instead add vanilla extract for a yummy vanilla sponge.

hope you enjoyed this basic recipe, see you oon, Ella x
