Simple Flapjacks!

How to make...FLAPJACKS!

A very simple yet totally yummy recipe!
Difficulty level : easy!

What you need:

Ingredients:
125 g (4 oz) margarine
125 g (4 oz) brown sugar- you can use granulated if you don't have brown
75 g (3 oz) golden syrup
250 g (8 oz) rolled oats
(note: we doubled the recipe)

Utensils:
Large sauce pan
wooden spoon
weighing scales
20 cm / 8 inches square tin

Step 1 - Melt the margarine with the sugar and golden syrup on a medium heat. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon.

Step 2 - Once fully melted, stir in your rolled oats until all the oats are coated in the mixture.

Step 3 - Line your tin(s) with grease proof paper.

Step 4 - Spoon your mixture into you tin(s) and smooth it out with the back of your spoon.

Step 5 - Bake for 25 to 30 minutes (or until golden brown) at 180 degrees Celsius, Gas mark 4.

Step 6 - Slice carefully into bite size pieces, leave to cool and then enjoy!!

For the chocoholics..... add chocolate chunks or chips to the mixture when you stir in the oats, or, drizzle with melted chocolate when the flapjacks are cooked and cooled! delicious!

For a fruity twist... add dried cranberry's or raisins or sultanas (any dried fruits) when you add your oats!

Hope you enjoy! ...ellaspantry x
